Echoes of Abstraction

Echoes of Abstraction

About

Composed of 21 paintings, 3 sculptures, and 2 triptychs, the University of La Sabana and its academic community welcome the exhibition Echoes of Abstraction by Master Jorge Riveros, one of the key artists within geometric abstraction in Latin America. The coherence of his artistic trajectory is reflected in a constant exploration of geometry, formal synthesis, and the study of composition and color. The exhibition reveals a refined evolution in his use of color: from the clarity within geometric structures to the exuberance of lyrical abstraction, always guided by a compositional rigor that responds to a profound understanding of visual laws. In summary, Riveros states: “Color expresses itself as it wishes. My role is to let it be, so it can be enjoyed in silence and with responsibility.” The arrival of Master Riveros’ exhibition at the campus of the University of La Sabana also inaugurates a renewed way of teaching. His works reveal new paths for understanding art and new possibilities for wonder. Through the Cultural Campus project, art and architecture are integrated into an Open Museum, where everyday movement acquires a transcendent meaning that invites contemplation: learning to look beyond and entering the path of beauty and wonder that open the door to creativity. The geometry of Jorge Riveros, with its Echoes of Abstraction within the university environment, unfolds a new reality that shapes a university committed to culture and open to its surroundings. The exhibition will be on view from February 28 to May 29, 2026, on the first floor of the Ad Portas building and at the School of Government.     .
