PAST TO PRESENT
Riveros returns to the sketches he made in the 60s and 70s in Germany on geometric abstraction and works them on canvas. The sketches are the basis of the works that are carried out, the primary idea. They are the development of the idea of the work Riveros wants to do. They are the ones who catch ideas in the first instance. The sketch format allows to work at any time and in any place. The sketches are additionally a historical reference of all his work because they support the creative process independently if they are made on the canvas as a painting or not.
FUTURE VISION
Riveros makes new sketches and paintings from the research and experimentation of geometric abstraction. There is a constant mental creation, in which Riveros gives life to his ideas on paper and then translate them on the canvas. To arrive at a final idea, some pictures may consist of 3 or 4 sketches. For Riveros, art is and always will be a serious and thoughtful trade.
